Violence, culture and a shared public service agenda
by John Carnochan
Tuesday 9th of June, 5-30 - 7.00 pm
14 St Enoch Square, Glasgow G1 4DB
As Commissioning Editor for the Postcards from Scotland book series I invite you to join us for the launch of the 9th book in the series - Conviction: Violence, culture and a shared public service agenda by John Carnochan.
The media throughout the UK have rightly been interested in the great success of Scotland’s Violence Reduction Unit. This book explains how this success was achieved, largely by getting agencies to work differently and in partnership. The book has been written by a former policeman but it is not about high visibility policing or more officers: John’s journey of discovery has led him to adopt a public health approach to violence prevention. This means he stresses the importance of matters such as empathy, health visitors and the early years.
Books will be available for sale at the launch at the cover price of £7.99. If you cannot manage to attend you can buy the book on the Postcards from Scotland website A kindle edition is also available on Amazon.
I would be grateful if you could let me know if you are able to attend by replying to this email.
I hope to see you on the 9th.
